Blogger Comments: As a behaviorist, I understand all the different aspects of body language and its functions in living organisms. For example, the “aggressive signaling show” that males of many species put as a warning message, pointing out the territorial limits in the presence of intruders considered a threat, or during the mating season, with the show of force or skills put by males of many species in front of females, (sometimes violent) to demonstrate that it is the most apt to defend and secure the progeny, are some examples of how the language of the body works in animals, with many differences between one species, including “Homo Sapiens”.

Just to point this out , this “show of force”, is still in use by human beings, in both males and females, similar to other species, is characterized by an outburst of violent signals, including gesticulating using all extremities, and the whole body, yelling, swearing, vocalizing threats, follow by escalation and impulsive behavior. In our field is considered as “ maladaptive and a sign of mental illnesses”. When signals are “ less frequent and isolated, like “ yelling or screaming, or producing very loud voice noises “ , are still considered maladaptive and primitive and could also be sings of unnoticed mental disorders. This behaviors are easily handled and understood by the very experienced professional of my field, and common in our daily practice.

It is also known that the deviation from organic normal levels of various hormones or neurotransmitters correlates with changes in the frequency and intensity of body language expression. Each time scientists discover another one, increasing the list of species that respond in a similar way to experimental increases in organic levels of hormones, like in this case, specifically with testosterones, we are in general a step closer to the proposed theory of “Life chemical- physiological universality” . All data gathered will help scientists determine the precise limits of what is chemically and physiologically general to all living beings and therefore by exclusión, what is only particular to each specie.
